Election Frenzy at NCS

In addition to studying the election process, from voting and the electoral college to political polls and advertising, it has become an NCS tradition to hold a major assembly before the presidential election every four years.
In addition to studying the election process, from voting and the electoral college to political polls and advertising, it has become an NCS tradition to hold a major assembly before the presidential election every four years. Today we were honored to have two prominent journalists speak to the Middle and Upper Schoolers, CNN's Judy Woodruff and PBS's Gwen Ifill. (Thank you to NCS parent Sabrina McMillian for scheduling Gwen Ifill for us.) Woodruff and Ifill were very well received and gave in-depth analysis of the election process and the media’s coverage of it, and answered savvy questions by the NCS students.

On Wednesday, October 27, NCS will hold a mock-presidential vote using real voting machines. Girls in grades 4-12 will cast their ballots and gain important voting experience. (Thank you to NCS parent Alice Miller, executive director of the D.C. Board of Elections, for her help in making this process run smoothly.)
