Sie '90 Nominated for Grammy Award

Trish Kulash Sie '90 was nominated Wednesday with the band OK Go for a Grammy Award for their music video Upside Down & Inside Out. The nomination is the second for both Sie and the band, which includes her brother, lead singer Damian Kulash Jr. (STA '94): Ten years ago, they won the same category for their Here It Goes Again.
 
That earlier video, which Sie choreographed and directed, launched her film career. She has since directed several short films and music videos, as well as the 2014 feature-length film Step Up: All In. Next month, shooting will begin on her next project, Pitch Perfect 3, starring Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson, which is due in theaters next December. Sie and OK Go have also been recognized by Smithsonian Magazine, which is honoring them this weekend in Washington for their video art by bestowing on them an American Ingenuity Award. Other recipients of the magazine's awards this year include Jeff Bezos, David Lynch, and Aziz Ansari.
