  • 1. Why should I attend Reunion?

    Life is about celebrating milestones – birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and yes, reunions. Whether you attended NCS for one year or all nine, you are a part of the fabric of this community and the history of this institution. We invite you to return to the Close to reflect, reconnect, and reminisce on your years here and celebrate how far you and your classmates have come in the years since.  

  • 2. Which classes are celebrating this year?

    NCS is excited to welcome back all alumnae to the Close for Reunion! The milestone classes this year are 1949, 1954, 1959, 1964, 1969, 1974 (50th), 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999 (25th), 2004, 2009, 2014, and 2019. 

  • 3. What is the weekend dress code?

    Unless otherwise stated, the dress code for all events is smart casual. Jeans are fine, but you might want to leave your sweatpants at home!

  • 5. What are nearby dining options?

    We are fortunate to have an excellent coffee shop on campus, Open City at the National Cathedral. It is open daily from 7:00 am - 5:00 pm and serves breakfast and lunch. Cathedral Commons is just north of campus along Wisconsin Avenue NW and is home to 2 Amy’s (pizza), Cactus Cantina (Mexican), La Piquette (French), Jettie’s (Sandwiches), Heritage India (Indian), Barcelona Wine Bar (Spanish Tapas), Raku (Japanese), Silver (American), and a Starbucks. 

  • 6. Where should I park and how much does it cost?

    Due to Flower Mart, parking in the Cathedral garage will fill early on both Friday and Saturday mornings. The garage will close at 2:00 am on Friday and 11:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. In-and-out parking privileges are not available on either day.  
     
    On Thursday, the garage will be open and free from 3:30 – 8:00 pm for those attending the Kente Cloth Ceremony and Reception and/or the Reunion Weekend Kick-Off Happy Hour at the Head’s House. 

    On Friday

    the garage will charge normal parking fees: $6 for the first hour, $11 for the second hour, $15 for the third hour, $22 for 3+ hours, and a $7 flat rate after 4:00 pm. Validation stickers for your parking ticket will be available at the Hearst reception desk until 8:00 pm; please validate no more than 30 minutes before you depart from the garage; please remember to bring your parking entry ticket. If you choose to leave the garage after 8:00 pm, the gate will be up as you exit.  

    Friday/Flower Mart Traffic: If you are attending Friday afternoon events, we encourage you to plan extra time to drive and park. 

    On Saturday, the garage will charge an “Event Parking” rate: $10 CASH ONLY to enter. The gate will be up as you exit.  
    Nearby Parking: Paid garage parking is available below the Giant grocery store at Cathedral Commons, off Wisconsin Avenue. (Enter from Macomb or Newark Streets.)  

    On Sunday, the garage will be open and free until 4:00 pm for those attending service at Washington National Cathedral and/or the Black Alumnae Association Brunch in Hearst Hall.   

  • 7. How will I find my classmates on campus?

    When you check-in, we will share what events alumnae from your Class are attending. Prior to the weekend, check out the Who’s Coming (linked) section of the Reunion website and encourage your classmates to attend. 

  • 8. May I bring a guest?

    Of course! Registered guests are welcome to attend. When registering, be sure to provide the names of your guests. 

  • 9. If I need special accommodation (accessibility, dietary, etc.), who should I contact?

    Please add your requests to the registration page when you RSVP online, and/or reach out to Director of Alumnae Engagement Chloe Cogo at (202) 537-6359.  

  • 10. If I am unable to attend in person, will the events be live-streamed?

    Yes! We will be live-streaming certain events for alumnae who are unable to attend in person. Check the schedule for more details.
