National Cathedral School (NCS) seeks a full-time senior accountant to provide accounting, budgetary, and administrative support as an integral member of the school’s business office team. Qualified candidates will possess excellent spreadsheet, database, word processing, and communication skills, and be able to manage a varied workload using independent judgment and discretion on matters of significance. The successful candidate will also be detail oriented, have a flexible work style, and be able to multi-task with moderate supervision. A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of full-time experience in nonprofit accounting is required; a CPA or Master’s degree is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required and some experience with Great Plains, Raiser’s Edge, Anybill, School Dude, Ulti-pro, and FACTs is desired.

Staff are expected to be on campus from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Responsibilities include performing daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual processes and procedures related to the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting operations of the school. Working closely and collaboratively with office colleagues and counterparts from related institutions, assists with the development and implementation of new or revised policies and procedures and serves as a backup to the staff accountant and payroll specialist positions. Reporting to the director of finance, assists in the preparation of budget presentations and other financial reports as needed. Additional duties may be assigned.
