C. Boyden Gray nominated as U.S. Ambassador to E.U.
Chase, Steven
On July 25, 2005, President Bush nominated C. Boyden Gray, a longtime member of the Board of Trustees of National Cathedral School, to be the U.S. ambassador to the European Union.
The U.S. Senate must confirm his nomination to represent the U.S. in Brussels at the headquarters of the 25-member European Union. Gray is a partner in Wilmer Cutler Pickering, a prominent Washington, DC law firm. Previously, he was White House counsel to former President George H.W. Bush and a Supreme Court clerk to former Chief Justice Earl Warren.
Gray brings extensive wisdom and experience to the NCS board, having served as a member of Harvard’s Committee on University Development, and the Board of Trustees of the Washington Scholarship Fund and St. Mark’s School. His roots at NCS are particularly deep since his daughter, mother, and stepmother are alumnae.
The NCS community extends its warmest congratulations to Boyden Gray.
