The PBS NewsHour has posted a video and print story, “Festival Showcases Future Faces of Science, Engineering,” which highlights NCS’ exhibit at the 2010 Science and Engineering Festival. The story appears on the NewsHour's online blog, “The Rundown.”
At the NCS exhibit, “Where Did All the Water Go?” students demonstrated the properties of superabsorbent polymers by making artificial snow and discussing polymers’ applications. The following students helped out at the booth over the weekend:

Nearby, at the Green Festival, seniors Charlotte Zimmerman and Jordan Savold volunteered part of their Saturday to help sort recyclables from the compost and landfill materials at the D.C. Convention Center. It was not the easiest of jobs, but they were committed and worked hard, and the coordinator commended them for their efforts. Also volunteering at the Green Festival on Saturday were Sara Kellenberg ‘15, Nicole Maksimovic ‘15, Amina Rahill-Marier ‘13, and Kate Samore ‘13.
Thanks and congratulations to all who participated to celebrate science, engineering, and the environment this weekend! A very special thanks to Science Department Chair Elna Clevenger, who organized NCS' presence at the Science and Engineering Festival.
