Lydia Miles Logan '88 Announces Philanthropists' $100 Million Gift

Lydia Miles Logan ’88, a senior director of the Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation, was part of the Jan. 27 announcement of an $100 million gift to the education organization Teach For America, Lydia appeared on CBS’ daytime program “The Talk”; you can view the clip here.
The idea of an endowment for Teach For America started with philanthropist Eli Broad, who pledged $25 million from his Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation and encouraged others to commit to the project. Three more foundations stepped up with matching funds: the Laura and John Arnold Foundation, the Robertson Foundation and philanthropists Steve and Sue Mandel.
Founded in 1990, Teach For America recruits recent college graduates and young professionals to work in high-need classrooms across America and become advocates for education reform. Over the past 20 years, Teach For America has trained more than 28,000 recent college grads to work in rural and urban schools.
