NCS’s literary magazine wins two of the American Scholastic Press Association’s top honors.
The 2014 issue of H.I.E. (Half in Earnest), NCS’s student literary magazine, has won two awards in the American Scholastic Press Association’s annual magazine competition: First Place with Special Merit and the award for Most Outstanding High School Literary-Art Magazine (for a circulation of under 500).
“H.I.E. members, under the leadership of Louise DiMarco’14 and Annie Graham’14, worked hard to put together this amazing issue. It was an honor to work with these young women, who are incredibly passionate about creating and discussing literature,” said Dr. Geoffrey Schramm. English Teachers Schramm, Paige Contreras-Gould, and Jane Simchak acted as faculty sponsors for HIE, which includes contributions from Upper and Middle School students.
