Lipson makes a big splash at ISL diving championships

On Thursday, Jan. 22, Sarah Lipson '15 became the first-ever NCS ISL diving champion by placing first overall at the ISL Diving Championships held at The Madeira School.  The ISL swimming and diving championship was founded in 1997, when (incidentally) the NCS swim team won their first championship.

Coached by NCS Lower School Social Sciences Teacher Raegan Conlin, Lipson is hitting her peak at the right time at the close of the winter season.  Lipson executed her 11 dives, even learning a new dive during the warm up period, to hold off tough competition from the other divers.  Congratulations to Coach Conlin and Sarah on an amazing accomplishment.

Next up for the NCS diver are two remaining championship events occuring on Jan. 29 at Stone Ridge pool beginning at 5:00 pm for the WMPSSDL Diving Championship, and Feb. 5 at 4:30 pm at the Germantown Indoor Swim Center where she will compete in the 51st Annual Washington Metropolitan Interscholastic Diving Championship. Go Eagles!
