JV Softball came up against the two hour time limit to prevail in a back-and-forth battle with a good Saints team. Good discipline at the plate and good base running keyed the offense. We had several walks, and Alba Cordover '18 and Inna Tintchev '18 both scored sliding into home on close plays. Inna also played a solid second base, replacing an equally solid Lauryn Barnes '17, with Lily McGrail '17 receiving their throws at first base. Emmy Perry '17 kept us in the game with her aggressive defense as catcher. The difference in the game occurred early, when Alba’s pitching and sound defense kept the Saints from scoring in their half of the inning, which was the only scoreless frame for either team.
