The best way to envision becoming part of the NCS community is to walk our campus and meet our faculty and students. There are many opportunities to visit our school. A brief overview follows, while detailed steps, dates and registration links are available through our admission portal. We look forward to welcoming you to NCS and getting to know your family.

Grades 4-6

Lower School
We encourage parents to begin the application process by registering for a parent tour. These tours visit classrooms, include brief conversations with students and teachers, and end with a Q&A with the head of the Lower School.

Applicants for 4th and 5th grades will then visit the school on a Saturday in December or January for an in-house assessment and tour. Applicants for 6th grade will attend a half-day shadow visit, where they will join in classes with current 6th graders and tour the campus. These visits provide an applicant the opportunity to get to know NCS better while we get to know her.

NCS also holds a Lower School Information Session and an all-school Open House in the fall.

Grades 7-12

Middle & Upper School
At the end of September and continuing through January, we offer every prospective 7th-12th grader and her family a personalized, hour-long tour with a current NCS student. In addition, an admission team member will get to know the student during a 15-minute, one-on-one interview before asking family members to join in the conversation. We want to ensure we answer any questions about the school or the application process. This 30-minute session may be scheduled adjacent to your tour, or you can return for it later in the fall. (Both are required, and interviews cannot be scheduled prior to the tour.)

Applicants are encouraged to register for a shadow visit in January or February, when they will spend the day with a current student, attend classes, get to know our teachers and students, and have lunch. We do our best to create a schedule that matches the interests of the applicant.

NCS also holds a Middle and Upper School Information Night and an all-school Open House in the fall.
