What is your favorite class and why?
My favorite class at NCS so far has been World Geography. I found it interesting because many conversations in class were centered around current events. We used the concepts and tools that we learned and applied them to current world events. Because of this, the class made me more conscious of and knowledgeable about what is happening in the world.

Where is your favorite spot on the Close?
I love the Athletic Center because it is an incredible building with an amazing staff. At the end of a busy school day, it feels so great to release my energy and get my mind off of academics on the beautiful athletic fields, shiny courts, or weight room. When I first walked into the Athletic Center on my tour of NCS, my jaw literally dropped in awe; I was so excited that such an amazing facility is dedicated solely to female athletes.

What is your favorite NCS tradition?
My favorite NCS traditions are Spirit Day and Music Day!! Spirit Day offers a ton of excitement, action, and competition. It is a great way to show off your school pride (Go Gold Team!). After all of the morning activity of Spirit Day, Music Day is fun way to see all the creativity in the school as students perform hilarious skits. The day culminates in intense excitement and suspense as the seniors display the senior theme.

What are your favorite extracurriculars to participate in at NCS?
I'm a Peer Mentor this year and I am so excited to be one! This means that I will help a freshmen try to manage the sometimes difficult and stressful journey of freshmen year by teaching them important study skills. Most importantly, I'm very excited to build a strong bond with girls in younger grades.

Why did you come to NCS?
I decided to come to NCS because I thought it offered a unique academic experience. It offers a perfect balance: driven young women in a classroom, which help me to thrive in discussions and hear passionate, insightful perspectives from my peers, with the opportunity to take co-ed classes and become a part of the St. Albans community and understand other viewpoints from a very different group of peers. NCS is a rigorous environment, but not a stressful one. While teachers push you to work hard, there are many way to relieve stress throughout the day with art classes, free periods, clubs, and mandatory sports. This was very attractive and ultimately lured me into NCS.

Why did you decide to become a student ambassador?
I decided to become a student ambassador because I wanted to share my experience at NCS with prospective students. I think NCS is an incredible and unique place to learn and I wanted to encourage others to consider NCS as an option for their education.

What do you do in your free time?
When I have free time, which is infrequent with school work and a busy soccer schedule, I enjoy watching TV, hanging out with friends, and discovering new restaurants in DC!

What is one piece of advice you would give to a new student at NCS?
Join a fall sport! It is an incredible way to make new friends (both in your grade and in other grades) and become a part of a little group (or family) at NCS even before school starts.
