What is your favorite class and why?
My favorite class at NCS? Any history class, from ancient history to American politics. The history classes at NCS allow you to learn the history and culture of many different groups of people. Our classes allow for open discussion and through that I hear other girls’ opinions and perspectives.

Where is your favorite spot on the Close?
My favorite spot on the close is the Cathedral. This year as a sophomore I am an acolyte at the cathedral and I spend a lot of my time that beautiful place. Plus, a lot of the big NCS moments happen within the walls of the Cathedral; from opening cathedral to Flag Day at the end of the year, and everything in between.

What is your favorite NCS tradition?
My favorite tradition at NCS is Lessons and Carols. Both St. Albans and NCS come together for a large Christmas service filled with song and dance before we all leave for winter break. The service begins with the chorale processing in singing and they continue to lead the congregation in all the hymns.

What are your favorite extracurriculars to participate in at NCS?
My favorite extracurricular at NCS is Chorale. The Chorale is the Upper School coed chorus. Within the Upper School it is its own community. Even if you are not a star singer, it is still a lot of fun. We have great directors and it’s a great way to meet other girls that are not in your class.

Why did you come to NCS?
I came to NCS in fourth grade from Key Elementary School. I came to NCS because the academic curriculum challenged me in ways I had not been challenged before. The community is also very appealing. Not only are you close with the girls in your own grade but throughout your career at NCS, you will find that you are close with girls in the grades both older and younger than you. NCS is a great place, with so many opportunities for everyone.

Why did you decide to become a student ambassador?
I decided to become an ambassador because I am proud of my school and love to show it off. I want to share my school with others and welcome new people to such a great community.

How do you spend your free time?
In my free time I play tennis. Not only is it my fall sport for school, but it’s a lot of fun to play with friends.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a new student at NCS?
One piece of advice I would give a new student at NCS would be to try everything; from school lunches to new activities. There is so much offered at NCS and you will never know what you actually like until you try new things.
