Parents Association Elects Leadership for '18-'19

The NCS Parents Association elected an executive committee for the 2018-2019 school year Wednesday, and the outgoing leaders received well-deserved praise for a successful year.

PA Upper School Vice President Gay Truscott '80 saluted the leadership of President Chip Meyer, who could not attend due to a professional obligation, and she highlighted several of the programs that the PA sponsored this year. They included parent education events, faculty-led seminars on topics of interest, and other initiatives focused on, as Truscott put it, "educating and enlightening parents and the girls."

More than 160 parent volunteers were recognized for the many ways they gave of their time and talents this year in a variety of roles. Head of School Kathleen O'Neill Jamieson said that the PA could be proud of "a list two pages long of things parents conceived of, planned, and implemented this year."

Such volunteerism, Jamieson said, makes the entire school "not only successful in what we do, but we come together as a community. And our girls are watching your example."
