Escoto '18 Selected as a Milken Scholar

Andrea Escoto '18 has been selected as a 2018 Milken Scholar, signifying her exceptional academic performance, commitment to community service, and leadership ability.

The Milken program identifies about two dozen students nationally each year. These students receive support in a variety of ways to assist the transition into college and, later, into the professional world. The scholars program was founded nearly 30 years old by Michael and Lori Milken, and the growing community of Milken Scholars connect frequently, providing mentorship and internship opportunities and other support in pursuit of career goals.

Andrea has already been honored through the National Hispanic Recognition Program and is a Questbridge Prep Scholar. She has attended the Student Diversity Leadership Conference. She also has won the Rensselaer Medal, recognizing her math and science aptitude, and the Alexa McMahon '05 Writers Day Award. Andrea will attend Princeton University this fall.

Andrea is the third NCS woman to be named a Milken Scholar, joining Lindsay Greene '99 and Toni Alakija '15. Greene graduated from Harvard and Yale and now serves the city of New York as a senior advisor on housing economic development. Alakija attends the University of Pennsylvania, where she studies business and health policy.

Congratulations to Andrea on her selection for this prestigious program.
