Tamen '15, Menard '15 Are All-Americans in Soccer

Rubii Tamen '15 and Hannah Menard '15 capped their collegiate soccer careers this winter by being named NCAA Division III All-Americans.

Tamen scored 16 goals for Amherst College this season, nearly a third of the team total, including seven game-winners. Two goals came in the NCAA Tournament, helping Amherst advance to the Sweet Sixteen during a 15-3-2 season.

Tamen was also the New England Small College Athletic Conference's Player of the Year and was named to the all-conference's first team for the second straight year. In four years playing for the Mammoths, she recorded 32 goals and 10 assists.

Menard played on a Washington University in St. Louis back line that recorded 16 shutouts this season and allowed only five goals all year. She also contributed two goals and three assists during a 21-1 season that saw the Bears reach the national semifinals.

Menard was named the University Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week twice this year and was a second-team choice on the all-conference team. She played three years for NCS before transferring to Lake Highland Preparatory School in Orlando for her senior year.

The women were each recognized in person Saturday at the United Soccer Coaches All-America Ceremony & Reception in Chicago. Congratulations to Rubii and Hannah for their amazing accomplishment!
