NCS Awarded Sportsmanship Award by ISL

National Cathedral School has been recognized by the Independent School League as the 2020 recipient of the Gary T. Blackman Sportsmanship Award.

The Blackman award takes into consideration fair play, respect for officials and opponents, and good citizenship by the entire school community at all athletic events.

The award was announced this month during the ISL's concluding athletics directors' meetings for the year. This is NCS's first time to receive the honor.

Head of School Susan C. Bosland said, "NCS is thrilled to receive the ISL's Blackman Award! It is an honor to be recognized in this way, and we continue to be proud of being a part of such a strong and collaborative athletic league."

Director of Athletics and Physical Education Heather Dent said, "I am very proud that the school and our athletes, coaches, and parents were recognized by our peer schools for the positive display of sportsmanship, humility, and camaraderie in the pursuit of competition."
