Learning Beyond the Classroom: Students Attend Diversity Leadership Conference

Five NCS juniors and one senior traveled to St. Louis to attend the Student Diversity Leadership Conference, sponsored by the National Association of Independent Schools in late fall.

The NCS students engaged in leadership skills training, attended a full roster of student programs and activities, and explored questions of identity and intersectionality through affinity and other groups. The students bonded with each other, as well as with conference attendees from St. Albans and other Washington, D.C. schools.

As they have done for the past four student conferences, World Languages Department Chair Nilda Villalta and Spanish teacher and DEIB Dean Tamara Riquelme-Manzoni served as chaperones with leadership and guidance from Director of DEI and Ethical Leadership Loris Adams.
