NCS 2V Rowers Win at Historic Stotesbury Cup Regatta

NCS’ 2V team qualified for the semis by placing third out of 24 teams, and proceed to win their semi-final heat and take 3rd place overall in the finals to win the bronze medal. The boat consists of Lindsay Starr ‘12, Molly McShane ‘12, Kelsey Slaughter ‘10, Annie Lindahl ‘11, Maddie Mott ’11, Rachel Siegler ‘12, Susie Alexander ‘12, Margaret Morrison ‘11, and coxswain Liz Adamson '10.

The regatta, held on the Schuylkill River May 14 and 15, attracted 180 high schools and 5,000 athletes this year.

NCS’ 1V qualified for the semi-finals on Saturday by finishing sixth out of 35 teams, but just missed making the finals by placing third in their heat.

NCS’ freshmen team placed 25th out of 40 in their first race but did not qualify for the semis or finals.

This is the best that the NCS crew program has performed at the Stotesbury Regatta in many years, and the best finish for the 2V since 2002. Our varsity teams now have a lot of momentum heading into the Virginia Scholastic Rowing Association championships at the Occoquan Reservoir on Saturday, May 22,

Both St. Albans 1V and 2V teams took silver in the highly competitive Stotesbury finals, STA's IV losing to Philadelphia's St. Joseph's Prep by just three seconds.
