Postcards from the US Chorale Trip to Ft. Worth-Dallas

Members of the Upper School Chorale from NCS and St. Albans spent March 19-23 of the 2011 spring break on a fast-paced tour of Dallas-Ft. Worth. The group performed at: the Church of the Transfiguration in Dallas; the Episcopal School of Dallas; and in a concert with the St. Mark’s and Hockaday School Choirs; they also enjoyed the hospitality of host families from both schools.

The group also visited: the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District, where they saw a cattle drive and rodeo, and had a chance to try their own skill on a mechanical bull; toured Southern Methodist University, Meyerson Symphony Center, the Dallas Arts District and Arboretum; got a lesson in line dancing; and toured the site of the Texas State Fair, with its renowned Art Deco buildings. Throughout, everyone enjoyed the warm weather and great Tex-Mex fare.

Escorting the group were Director Benjamin Hutto, Chuck Bowers, Kathleen Leary, and Michael Lodico from the Performing Arts department, and Emily Fetting, NCS assistant to the Associate Head of School and Upper School Director.
