NCS Sailors Win Awards for Varsity Sailing

At the DC Sail final regatta and award ceremony on May 15, 2011, three 10th-grade NCS sailors won awards for varsity sailing in the spring term. Christina Graubert and Lauren Mott tied for 3rd place, and Claudia Harrison won 4th place. In addition, Christina Graubert and St. Albans 10th-grader Jackson Biddle were awarded the two Coaches Awards for the season. They competed against seven teams and over 50 sailors who participate in the high school racing program.

 

DC Sail is a sailing program of the National Maritime Heritage Foundation. Established in 2005, the DC Sail High School Sailing Team allows students from high schools throughout the DC area to participate in varsity and junior varsity interscholastic teams. The high school program is offered in the spring (March-May) and fall (September-November).
