On Oct. 3, NCS students competed in the first Independent School Math Association of Washington (ISMAW) Upper School Math Meet of the year at St. Albans. The school entered two teams, with a total of 20 students – the A team for students in precalculus and beyond, and the B team for those taking geometry, algebra 2, and precalculus.
The NCS A team had its best finish ever, beating both Sidwell and STA and finishing within two points of first-place GDS. Three students also had excellent individual scores, earning seven out of eight possible points on four 11-minute problem sets - Karen Lee and Michelle Lee on the A team, and Rachel Kellogg on the B team.
The team has its next meet on Oct. 31 - good luck!
