POSITION: Upper School Mathematics Teacher
SCHOOL: National Cathedral School for Girls, Washington DC

National Cathedral School (NCS) announces a search for a full-time Mathematics teacher in the Upper School. Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred, and have relevant teaching experience. In addition, ideal candidates will have AP teaching experience and will be versatile in teaching first-year algebra through AP-level courses. Experience teaching multivariable calculus, differential equations, linear algebra or vector calculus at the high school level is desirable. The position begins in August 2014.

NCS math teachers use a variety of techniques in the classroom and are comfortable integrating technology into the curriculum. The school expects candidates to have an ability to use differentiated instruction. NCS seeks an experienced classroom teacher who has a background in curricular and pedagogical innovation. Responsibilities for this position also include collaboration and full participation in a school-wide math department to ensure excellent scope and sequence.

The school day is from about 7:45 a.m. through about 3:45 p.m. Other responsibilities include regular department, division, and faculty meetings, supervision of one or more study halls, and serving as a homeroom advisor. Salaries are competitive, based on experience and include a full benefits package including professional development.
