Robinson '18 Named Softball Player of Year for D.C.

Logan Robinson '18 has capped her memorable softball career at NCS by being named the 2018 Gatorade District of Columbia Softball Player of the Year.

Robinson once again dominated at pitcher this year for the Eagles (12-3), who captured their third consecutive District of Columbia State Athletic Association title last month. She struck out 101 batters in 63 innings pitched, recording a 7-3 win-loss record. She also shone at the plate, batting .512 and driving in 14 runs.

In selecting Robinson for the honor, the Gatorade judges also recognized her outstanding academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field.

Robinson made the NCS varsity team as a freshman and quickly established her ability: She was a four-time all-Independent School League pick. She also was an honorable mention Washington Post All-Met selection last year (this year's picks have not been announced). After her graduation Saturday, Robinson will attend Carleton College, where she will continue to play softball.

Robinson is the third NCS softball player to win D.C. Player of the Year recognition from Gatorade, after Alie Kolbe (2007 and 2008) and Sarah Ing (2012, 2013, and 2014). Robinson's selection makes her eligible for Gatorade's National Softball Player of the Year award, to be announced later this month.

Congratulations to Logan on this well-deserved honor!
