Circle of Hope Therapeutic Riding

Volunteers must be at least 14 years old and go through brief training and then volunteer by grooming horses, assisting with the maintenance of equipment and helping participants before the lesson.

MTR’s mission is to improve the quality of life of the participants with disabilities through horse interaction. There is a range of volunteering opportunities at Maryland Therapeutic Riding such as horse leaders before lessons, sidewalkers during lessons, facility and farm volunteers, office volunteers and with previous experience with horses will be able to participate more actively in the lessons.

Montgomery County Department of Recreation Therapeutic Riding

Northern Virginia Therapeutic Riding Center
The Northern Virginia Therapeutic Riding Center is focused on giving help to children and adults with disabilities with an inclusive community setting. Volunteers will spend most of their time helping with lessons as well as maintaining the stables and feeding the horses. A one-time opportunity to help at this organization is a “workday” in which volunteers will paint, mow and fix the facility.
