Letter sent to St. Albans Parents:
As with the first dance of the year, we would like parents and students to revisit and review the school policy regarding alcohol and other illegal drugs. The policy is explained on page six of the St. Albans School Handbook. A boy’s full knowledge of the fact that using, possessing, or being under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs anywhere on the Cathedral Close is a violation of a major school rule might help him make a better choice in what could well be a challenging moment. We will have a discussion with the boys regarding these issues and their general behavior, and we ask that you continue to discuss them in your homes as well. We believe that open communication, both in the home and on the Close, is crucial to a boy’s development morally, ethically, intellectually, and even socially, and we hope you will join us in maintaining these discussions throughout the year.
