Two Seniors Named National Merit Semifinalists

Two NCS seniors were among 16,000 students nationwide named as semifinalists in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program. This honor establishes them among the top 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors who took last fall's PSAT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test).

Emma Bennett ‘23 and Katie Troup '23 were selected on the basis of their scores last October on the PSAT, which is taken by about 1.6 million high school juniors each year.

The two semifinalists are now eligible to apply for consideration as a National Merit Finalist, a determination based on test scores, academic records, recommendations, and essays. The National Merit Scholarship Corp. finalists will be announced in February.
